With 35 buildings, over 20 miles of hiking trails, 1,741 acres of property, and over 10,000 visitors annualy, Ranch staff are always busy keeping the grounds and facilities clean, and doing everything we can to ensure our guests are well fed and comfortable. All of the staff at Walker Creek Ranch are employees of the Marin County Office of Education and go through a live scan finger print and background check before they are hired on.
The Ranch Store is stocked with the basics like tooth paste, sun screen and chocolate, and also carries Ranch souveneers for the convenience of our guests. Students attending the Outdoor School should not bring money, but will receive a Store Order Form if they would like to purchase a T-shirt, water bottle or other Ranch momento.
All of the students at the Outdoor School will have the opportunity to visit and engage in activities in the Ranch Garden, which is now producing delicious organic vegetables year round. Conference guests are welcome to take a walk through the garden as well, and hopefully sample some of our fresh produce in the Dining Hall. The trails, low elements challenge course, and water front facility are also available to conferenence groups. A lifeguard is required for swimming and/or canoeing activities, which are available during the summer months.
